Why choose a "Holistic" path to assist your Animal with Behavioral, Performance or Well-being challenges?
Simply put, looking at your animal friend as a "whole" being encompasses their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects, which results in addressing the core reasons for imbalances in any of these areas. This holistic approach means that symptoms are a roadmap which tell a story about the past, present and future of your animal. This important information helps us to choose the healing arts modalities that will best serve to bring new balance and vitality to your animal and to the life you share together. Believing that the mind, body and emotions are inseparable, and what affects one affects the others, Kathy approaches all learning, behavior, performance and well-being issues from a holistic perspective. Looking beyond a problem behavior and identifying the root causes; or determining if the issue is emotionally based is key to solving many of our companion animal's challenges, as well as our own. The methods and modalities Kathy uses may not currently be considered mainstream, but are known to be effective and are being used for promoting both animal and human well-being all over the United States and Europe. You will find these methods used in hospitals, hospice care facilities, and veterinary clinics and recommended by holistically minded medical doctors, veterinarians and animal behavior professionals. TTouch and positive re-education are the primary methods used to help your animal feel better and behave better. Flower Essences, Aromatherapy, Intuitive Communication and Reiki are also frequently recommended modalities, and work synergistically. These complementary modalities are not meant to be a substitute for, but rather a wonderful adjunct, to good holistic veterinary care. Ttouch, which stands for Tellington Touch, is a method that combines a philosophy, body work and ground exercises that promote focused thinking and healing and is used for many behavioral, emotional and well-being issues. Flower Essences are non-aromatic custom blends of various flowers that help balance the emotions and aid in releasing fears or anxieties. Reiki energy healing is an ancient healing art that restores balance to the natural flow of life-sustaining energy flow, so the person or animal can heal themselves as nature intended. Intuitive Communication is like having an interactive conversation with your animal through pictures, thoughts and feelings transmitted telepathically, similar to radio signals. This communication is employed often, either as a stand-alone session, or in conjunction with other therapies and can bring a new understanding to what an animal is thinking and feeling, helping to resolve many issues. Aromatherapy, using pure therapeutic essential oils is often recommended as a complementary therapy for promoting optimal wellbeing. Kathy's belief that diet and nutrition can play an important role in the overall wellbeing of an animal leads her to recommend a diet based on fresh, biologically appropriate raw foods. This belief is confirmed by current research and feeding wholesome fresh foods is now recommended by many veterinarians. There are many species that benefit from this holistic approach, including people, dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, birds, reptiles, fish -- basically the wellbeing of any person or animal can be enhanced through the healing arts offered at Dancing Hearts.
