Price: $40.00

A fun and educational sheep herding experience!

This class will start with a brief discussion of basic herding principles, your dogs natural instinct and what skills your dog needs before starting their herding education. Each team will practice some basic skills before their work sessions with the sheep. A wonderful opportunity to experience herding, and to determine if you would like to join a herding class with your dog at Dancing Hearts this spring!

Event Summary: You will get an introduction of Kathy's methods, which focus on keeping you and your dog calm, focused and eager-to-learn.

Dogs will be started on a long line and reinforced for calm, quiet behavior in the presence of the stock as the dog is guided to make natural moves to control the sheep's movement around the pen.

Kathy's methods, which are based upon clear communication, understanding and collaboration, are effective and positively reinforcing to dog and handler alike!

Who should attend: Herding breed dogs with their handlers who are interested in experiencing this positive method for exploring the possibility of starting your herding education -- just for fun, for future competition or for farm work.
