Novice Sheepdog Trial Handling Workshop

Video Taped and Coached Novice Trial Courses

A great way to improve your handling skills

and develop solid partnership with your dog!

This workshop is facilitated by Kathy Kawalec, a coach who teaches mindful and effective communication between dog and handler...and a teacher who brings deeper understanding of connecting to your dog thru the language of "sheep"...your dog's native language!

Kathy has successfully trialed and won in all venues with her border collies, and has coached handlers and dogs of many herding breeds to achieve wins, titles and honors in all venues.

All levels of novice teams may participate in this workshop, and we can set up courses from beginner novice to regular novice and up to a small pro novice course with driving.

The morning will start with each team running their course two times, back to back, while being coached by Kathy and video taped. Other participants will be watching and learning from the other runs. Midday will bring lunch, review of the video footage and commentary by Kathy, involving both handling and judging tips. The afternoon will repeat two runs each of the courses which will be video taped, and the day will end with a final review of the last run of the day.
